Tuesday, October 7, 2008, -- Informal discussion with Dr. Ben Barres concerning the issues women face in science. Dr. Barres is both a distinguished neuroscientist and a very influential advocate of women and minorities in science and has a unique perspective as a transgendered person. In 2006, Dr. Barres published an article in Nature, titled, "Does Gender Matter?." Early 2008, Dr. Barres gave a lecture at Harvard titled, "Some Reflections on the Dearth of Women and Science."
